Eugene B. Johnson
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Gene Johnson co-founded the company and has been chief executive officer since January 2002, adding the chairman's position in January 2003. Before that, Johnson led FairPoint's corporate development efforts as executive vice president. A former captain in the U.S. Army, he started his career as a certified public accountant. He owned a cable television construction company and later became head of the mergers & acquisitions group of Cable Investments, Inc. He also served as president and principal shareholder of JC&A, Inc., an investment banking and brokerage firm providing services to the cable TV, phone and related industries. Today he serves on the board of trustees for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is a regular supporter of local civic activities. He has been a director since 1991.
Jane E. "Bonnie" Newman
Director
Jane "Bonnie" Newman joined FairPoint in August 2007 as a director and was elected lead director by FairPoint’s board of directors in
October 2007. Newman has served in various capacities in academia, business and government. Most notably, she served in the administrations
of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and served on Capitol Hill. Newman also possesses extensive board experience, having previously
served in varying capacities on the boards of Markem Corporation, Consumers Water Company, Public Service Company of New Hampshire, the Nellie Mae Education
Foundation, Fleet Bank of New Hampshire and Indian Head Banks. She served as interim president of the University of New Hampshire from 2006−2007
and served as executive dean of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Patricia Garrison-Corbin
Director
Patricia Garrison-Corbin has served as president of P.G. Corbin and Company, Inc., Financial Advisory Services, Municipal Finance, since 1996. She has also served as president and chief information officer of P.G. Corbin Asset Management, Inc., Fixed Income Investment Management, since 1987. She has served as chairman of the board of directors of Delancey Capital Group, LP, Equity Investment Management since 1996, and chairman of the board of directors of P.G. Corbin Group, Inc., Investment and Financial Advisory Services since 1996. Corbin has also served as a director for the Erie Insurance Company since 1999.
Thomas F. Gilbane, Jr.
Director
Thomas Gilbane has served as the chairman and chief executive officer of the Rhode Island-based Gilbane Building Company, one of the nation’s largest general contractors and construction managers, since January 2004. He served earlier as vice president of Gilbane, Inc., the parent company of Gilbane Building Company and Gilbane Development Company. Gilbane is a member of the Brown University Engineering Advisory Committee and is a Babson College trustee. His past appointments include vice chairman of the board United Way of America, director Fleet National Bank, director New England Telephone and director NYNEX-New England and New York.
David L. Hauser
Director
David Hauser is group executive and chief financial officer of Duke Energy, where he has been employed for 30 years. Hauser is a certified public accountant and a certified purchasing manager. He is on the board of directors of Charlotte’s Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and is the chair of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Business School Advisory Board. Hauser is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives Institute.
Robert A. Kennedy

Robert Kennedy became the University of Maine’s 18th president in April 2005. He served the university earlier as vice president for academic affairs and provost, and as interim president. After service in the U.S. Army, he earned a Ph.D. in botany from the University of California-Berkeley. Kennedy has held numerous positions at colleges and universities across the country including the University of Iowa, Washington State University, Ohio State University, the University of Maryland, and Texas A&M University. He is a corporator of Bangor Savings Bank and a volunteer with the Maine Special Olympics.
Claude C. Lilly

Since July 1, 2007, Dr. Claude Lilly has served as the Dean of the College of Business and Behavioral Science at Clemson University. Prior to that, Dr. Lilly
was the Dean and James J. Harris chair of risk management and insurance in the Belk College of Business Administration at
the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Lilly has served as assistant deputy insurance commissioner for the State of Georgia and as a director
of several corporations. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters and Chartered Life Underwriter designations and is a member of numerous
professional associations.
Robert S. Lilien

Robert Lilien is currently a partner in the law firm of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he has worked
since April 2002. He is the managing member of Trilogy Capital Partners, LLC, a captive private equity fund with equity provided by a single family group, where he has also worked since April 2002. From 1993 to 2002, he held various positions at Duke Energy Corporation, including senior vice president of Duke Ventures, chairman and chief executive officer of Crescent Resources, LLC, chairman of DukeNet Communications, Inc. and chairman of Duke Capital Partners, LLC.
Michael R. Tuttle
Director
Michael Tuttle has served as president and chief executive officer of Merchants Bank, a commercial bank headquartered in Burlington, Vermont, since January 2006. He served the bank earlier as chief operating officer and senior lender. Tuttle is also a director of Merchants Bancshares, Inc. and serves on the boards of United Way of Chittenden County and the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.
