FairPoint Communications is committed to making a significant contribution to the economic development of its communities. Through its core communications services, as well as direct benefits such as jobs and utilization of local businesses, FairPoint will take a leading role in using technology to expand and sustain local and regional economies.

When the communities where we do business prosper, so does FairPoint. That's why we partner with business and community leaders to help advance economic development. Our primary contributions include the delivery of communications services that link businesses with markets locally and around the world. We also provide good jobs and use local suppliers and vendors where possible.

We also offer leadership and support to community and economic development groups that pursue larger-scale initiatives. Our goal is to help create meaningful, sustainable economic growth.

FairPoint has also launched a pilot economic-development program. We are partnering with the regional economies of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont to build collaboration and use high-speed Internet and expanded capacity to foster innovation and the development of a robust regional economy.
