Corporate Giving
Mission
To improve the quality of life of our communities by delivering exceptional communications services, supporting education and cultural enrichment and promoting safe and healthy communities.
FairPoint will focus philanthropic efforts on the education, culture, safety and health of our communities—four areas where we believe our technology can make the greatest impact.
Focus
The focus of FairPoint Communications Community Giving is to fund programs to support the following areas:
- Education
- Culture
- Community Safety and Health
Education
Technology has revolutionized how we live, learn and work. To participate in today’s knowledge economy, people need a level of literacy and education that is unprecedented in history. FairPoint will support initiatives that address our communities’ educational readiness from elementary school through the professional work force.
We are a proud sponsor of the Maine statewide literacy program, which is dedicated to teaching every kindergarten child in Maine to read and write.
Culture
We recognize the importance of cultural programs and the contributions they make toward improving our daily lives. We support organizations that enrich the cultural development of our communities.
Safety and Health
Safety and health are among the greatest challenges families and communities currently face. FairPoint supports safety and health organizations primarily through our donations to the United Way. We also continue to support initiatives that contribute to the safety and well-being of families.
Criteria for grant requests
FairPoint Communications prioritizes its community giving to partners and programs that will achieve meaningful results in education, culture, healthy and safe communities. Grant applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:
