SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (May 11, 2011) - FairPoint Communications is proud to be provide financial assistance as a sustaining partner of the seventh annual Way to Go! Commuter Challenge in Vermont.

During the week of May 16-20, FairPoint is encouraging its more than 580 Vermont employees to find healthy, earth-friendly ways to get to and from work.

"We have employees who live in more than 140 communities around the state," said Michael K. Smith, FairPoint state president for Vermont. "We're encouraging everyone to go the extra mile for our company and for our state by finding alternative ways to work, whether that means carpooling with colleagues or hopping on a bike and pedaling through the beautiful Vermont countryside."
