Camp Ta-Kum-Ta will receive a $2,000 donation from FairPoint Communications after being voted the favorite Vermont nonprofit in the company's Heroes in Our Community campaign on Facebook
"It's an honor for FairPoint to present Camp Ta-Kum-Ta with this $2,000 donation," said Mike Smith, Vermont state president for FairPoint. "The Heroes in Our Community effort on Facebook was an opportunity to hear from Vermonters about which nonprofits have made a difference in the Green Mountain State."
FairPoint received votes for nonprofits in all corners of Vermont and people were passionate about their choices, Smith said. After several weeks of initial entries, six finalists were chosen, including Camp TKT, Everybody Wins!, King Street Youth Center, Mark Skinner Library, Northeast Disabled Athletic Association and Young Writers Project.
