(NasdaqCM: FRP), a leading communications provider of high-speed Internet access, local and long-distance phone, television and other broadband services, now offers greater speeds - up to 50 Mbps in Kinderhook, N.Y.; Orwell, Ohio; Columbus Grove, Ohio; Bentleyville, Pa. and Kearney, Mo. - and significantly increased speeds in many other markets in its 18-state territory.
These improved speeds are a result of FairPoint's significant upgrades to its network; in all, rural communities in 14 states served by FairPoint's Telecom Group, now get boosted speeds.
With more than 260,000 access line equivalents, FairPoint's Telecom Group has approximately 90 percent broadband availability coverage in its service areas.
