FairPoint FAST for Business Installation

Your Installation Package

A FairPoint technician will get your FAST service up and running for a setup fee of $99. Additional computers can be configured for $75 each.

The Installation Process

When you place your order for FAST for business, you will schedule an appointment time for our trained FairPoint technicians to come to your premises to conduct the installation process. Prior to installation, you should check to make sure that your computer(s) meets the FAST Internet service minimum system requirements. On the day of installation, our FairPoint technicians will install the optical network terminal (ONT) and battery backup unit required for FairPoint FAST (if they are not already installed at your premises), as well as run the CAT5e-grade wiring between the ONT and your primary computer. Additional wiring using CAT5e-grade wiring between computers is available from FairPoint technicians at an additional charge, or you may hire a third-party contractor.

FairPoint technicians will provide a FAST Internet service welcome kit that includes the Terms of Service and your Quick Start/Reference Guide. FairPoint FAST Internet service technicians will install your equipment, including your new router. After installation is complete, the technicians will guide you through the registration of your service, including accepting FairPoint's service agreement and opening your email account. Once you're registered, you will be able to experience the power of FairPoint FAST for Business.

Time Frame

Installation time can vary; however, we recommend that you reserve approximately 4–6 hours for the FairPoint technicians to complete the installation of your FairPoint FAST Internet service. A person 18 years of age or older must be present for the full installation visit.

• Covers manufacturer's defects and failures due to normal use
• Effective after initial 90-day warranty
• Provides replacement of defective unit as long as the customer has data service
• Covers both routers and wireless adapters on one FAST data circuit
