Encrypt emails and attachments to protect the security and integrity of your important communications. Secure mail is perfect if you send emails containing credit card and banking information, patient health records, billing information and other messages requiring privacy.

For Windows XP and 2000, you are required to have administrative privileges.

Email Clients

  • Microsoft® Outlook® 2007 (Recommended)
  • Microsoft® Outlook® 2003 (Recommended)
  • Microsoft® Outlook® 2002
  • Microsoft® Outlook® 2000
  • Microsoft® Outlook Express® 6.0 or above

For Outlook 2000, you are required to have Microsoft® Service Release 1 (SR1) or above. For all other clients we recommend the latest service pack.

Web Browser

  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6.0 or above

Internet Connection

  • Minimum 56 Kbps dial-up modem
  • LAN-based using standard TCP/IP
  • High-Speed Internet, ADSL, cable modem

If you are using a firewall/proxy, you must be able to connect to the Verizon Secure Mail application via http and https (ports 80 and 443, respectively).

Computer Hardware

  • 5–10 MB hard drive space
  • Intel® Pentium® processor 233 MHz (Recommended: Pentium 500MHz or greater)
  • 128MB RAM (Recommended: 256MB or greater)
